Todd Groves is a New York jazz and classical woodwind player specializing in saxophones, flutes, clarinets, recorders, and ethnic flutes.

He has performed with various singers and instrumentalists including Kristin Chenoweth, Natalie Cole, Michael Crawford, Linda Eder, Michael Feinstein, Aretha Franklin, Joel Grey, Audra McDonald, Lou Rawls, Meryl Streep, Tommy Tune, Grover Washington, Jr., Gino Vannelli, and many others.

Faculty positions include the University of Delaware (current), Rowan University, the Pennington School, and the Conservatory of Musical Arts. He has served as an adjudicator and clinician at various jazz festivals throughout DE, NJ, and PA and has given flute and piccolo master classes for high school students preparing for county, region, and all-state auditions. He also teaches privately in NY and NJ.

Todd is an active composer/arranger. His original composition for saxophone quartet, Delaware Jazz Suite, received its world premiere by the New Jersey Saxophone Quartet at the 2006 World Saxophone Congress in Slovenia. Todd's Nonet performed a recital of his own works at the University of Delaware in Spring 2009. He also produced the albums "Duo," "Encoded," "One Step Closer," and is finishing a jazz quartet CD of original compositions.

Todd graduated summa cum laude from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia where he was awarded the honor of Valedictorian.

Happenings

Todd's next Broadway show is Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown at the Belasco Theatre in NYC. The show opens November 4, 2010 with previews starting October 2nd and will star Patti LuPone and Brian Stokes Mitchell.
